Claire Vennis and Joff Lacey celebrate the kindness of strangers in our special Christmas edition of the P pod.

From the Cedar Ward staff who called on the community to help them arrange a wedding for a terminally ill patient, to the foodbank and free shop teams who processed record donations from across our town, to the volunteers who helped make scrubs for the NHS with Sew Creative, this year has seen the people of Petersfield respond with kindness and deep community spirit to the challenge of living through a pandemic.
We’re direct from The Petersfield Bookshop on Chapel Street where you’ll hear how owner John Westwood helped to strengthen the business through a surprise social media event.
We also play Christmas music recorded by students at TPS and Churcher’s College, and we hear your Messages of Comfort and Joy as you say thank you to people who have helped you this year, or who may be alone this Christmas.
Jon Walker of the Petersfield Post looks back at some of the year’s biggest local stories beyond Coronavirus, and it’s a sad farewell to radio project co-founder Dave Bowers.
All in the P pod, the local personalities show from Petersfield’s Shine Radio.
