Meg Allin and Sacha Fairweather meet Catriona Cockburn, a local environmental campaigner who is part of the newly formed Charity Petersfield Climate Action Network, or “PeCAN”.
Catriona says:
“I feel very privileged to live and bring my children up in Petersfield. I want to ensure that this beautiful place can be enjoyed for generations to come. The climate crisis is the greatest single threat humanity faces and we need to act now. I believe we need to understand the Climate Crisis, be Empowered with Solutions and Be The Change”.

PeCAN’s mission is to help Petersfield and surrounding villages reduce their carbon emissions as quickly as possible and protect nature.

It is fantastic to hear about the amazing rise of PeCAN and how they spread the word of the absolute urgency if trying to address the climate and nature crisis. It was good to hear how everyone will be able to make a huge difference. Inspiring!
What an incredibly information-packed interview, full of great and easy ideas. I’ve already picked up on a couple of suggestions.
Thank you all very much.
Such a blessing to hear you, Catriona
speaking from your heart about the concern for our environment. I too, like many others who care our planet realise that we can all play an important part to bring about protection and change, which will for sure effect future generations. Getting the message out about this vital, so I pray you will encounter more opportunities to speak.
I am happy to support pecan, and am looking forward to gain further green ideas.
A really well pitched interview; the girls are great and Catriona is really knowledgeable.
Could we have further investigation into green finance, ethical investing and pensions?
A whole programme on the circular economy would be really great! See Kate Raworth.
Also, how can we lobby big business?
A perfectly pitched interview; the girls are thoughtful and impassioned. Catriona is very well informed and interesting.
One key to reducing carbon emissions is finance, investment, pensions etc. Possibly a whole programme on this and doughnut economics? See Kate Raworth.
Also, how to lobby big business; banks, supermarkets etc?
Hi Anna,
Thank you for commenting
We are preparing for an episode on finance! Watch this space

Such a great interview. So informative and positive. Some brilliant ideas. We have such a chance with Covid Recovery planning to set things on a better path. It would be tragic to survive a pandemic but lose our place on this planet because we didn’t take any action when we had the chance. Thankyou so much Catriona & all at Pecan
