Shine Radio volunteer and local author Suzie Wilde has been creating and sharing inspirational walks in the Petersfield countryside since May 2019 and the series has now reached 100 episodes. Susie walks the South Downs every day with her Labrador, Raine – sharing her experiences with listeners through her regular feature on Shine Radio – Susie Wilde’s Wild Walks.
Wilde Walks has fast become one of Shine Radio’s most popular programmes and was especially well followed at the height of the recent Coronavirus Lockdown restrictions – when it provided listeners a way to indulge in the beauty of the outdoors whilst remaining safely at home.
One listener said:
‘There is something wonderful about being able to share in someone’s love of what they see around them, especially in Lockdown. It teaches us nothing if not that we can slow down to appreciate what we might not notice in life. I recommend Wilde Walks. Be comfortable in a chair and listen with your eyes closed or any way you might like to listen – but do listen.‘
You can hear the latest Wilde Walk on Petersfield’s Shine Radio every Friday around 9.30am and 1.30pm, on Saturdays around 8.30am, Sundays at 9.30am and the following Monday at 11.30pm. An excerpt is also played in Shine Radio’s weekly magazine show, the P Pod.
