There’s a new local campaign to help us know what to do in a power cut.

As the seasons change across the South Downs and storms become more likely, there are risks that trees can bring down power lines.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks has installed a new interconnector between Petersfield’s Bedford Road substation and a facility in Fernhurst. They say it should make our supplies more resilient.

But if the power does go out they want us to call 105 immediately to help their engineers trace the fault.
