Petersfield Remembers. Hear today’s open-air service from The Square and the ceremony that took place at the War Memorial.

The service is led by the Reverend Canon Will Hughes of St Peter’s Church with readings from Commander Clive Lewis, Chairman of Petersfield Royal British Legion.

The charity marks its 100th anniversary this year. It’s also the 100th anniversary of Petersfield’s War Memorial. The ornate stone edifice stands at the end of the High Street.

Shine Radio would like to thank the technical team at Churchers College for their help in recording today’s events in the town.

While members of the Petersfield community were focused on the memory of lives lost at war, a medical emergency was taking place in the streets and skies of our town.

A person was taken ill in the town centre during the service.

An ambulance entered The Square to provide medical support while the air ambulance was seen and heard in the skies above Petersfield during the ceremony at the war memorial.

Local photographer Chris Gorman was planning to take drone shots during the ceremony. The presence of the air ambulance helicopter meant he was unable to capture pictures of today’s events from the air.
