For the first time in two years, a public event was held in Petersfield to attract shoppers and make an occasion of the Christmas light switch-on.
While Petersfield’s pantomime has been kicked out of the Festival Hall to allow for COVID vaccinations, members of the cast were invited to sing at the event.
Children from local schools were also on stage, before the Town Mayor, Cllr Phil Shaw, flicked the switch at 7pm.
The mayor was accompanied by this year’s Petersfield Personality, David Weeks.
The lights have been installed along the High Street, Chapel Street and Lavant Street.
Dynamic white icicles adorn the trees in the Square – where Alan Cosh was let loose and spoke to attendees in Shine Radio’s live broadcast from the event.
