Crowdfunding effort for Liphook United player hit by serious injury

Efforts are underway to raise money for Liphook United footballer Owen Lovelace after he suffered a very serious broken leg during a match last Saturday.

The 20-year-old player sustained the injury within the first half of the match and play was immediately stopped so Owen could receive medical attention. He would later be taken by air ambulance to receive treatment and the match was later abandoned.

Owen received the very unwelcome news that because his leg had been broken so badly, he might not ever play football again. On top of this, he will be unable to work for some time yet as he recovers. As a young, self-employed builder an injury like this is a huge blow.

Fortunately his teammates, friends and family are crowdfunding to raise £5000 to support him with living expenses during his ongoing recovery.
