Who makes it shine?

You make it shine. If you have a story to share, either from your own observations or from an organisation you’re involved in, just email team@shineradio.uk or call Petersfield 555 500.

The volunteer team at Petersfield’s Shine Radio is drawn from across the local community. We also partner with four local schools, the Petersfield Post and Petersfield Museum.

What will I hear on Petersfield’s Shine Radio?

A brighter mix of great music and local information.

Only Shine Radio broadcasts the voices and stories of Petersfield people, amplifies the creativity in our town and connects the community 24/7.

We are home to unique local shows that celebrate the best in our town. For example, the P pod is your regular home of local personalities and real stories with Claire Vennis and Joff Lacey, The Brighter Minds Quiz tests your knowledge and brighten up your Saturday and Sunday nights with quizmaster Ian Crossman and Talking Books sees local published author Suzie Wilde share her passion for literature.

Yes – as a trusted source of local news and information, we keep you up-to-date with the latest from Petersfield every hour throughout the day together with the UK and world headlines (half-hourly during Rise & Shine, weekdays 6am-10am).

The Morning Report is also available to listen to anytime at shineradio.uk each morning rounding up everything you need to know, including details of local road closures and rail engineering works.

What area does the service cover?

You can listen anywhere but our editorial focus is entirely on the interests of people in our community. We call this area ‘the Petersphere’ and you can see a map of it here.

Our brighter mix of great music has been carefully selected, appealing to those aged 40-60 (but anyone of any age is welcome). In addition to the playing songs that shine forever from the likes of ABBA, David Bowie, Take That and Madonna, including some you won’t have heard for years, we introduce you to the best new releases from artists such as Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Ava Max and Jack Savoretti so you’re sure to discover your next favourite song with Shine Radio.

We also celebrate the work of local unsigned musicians from around the Petersphere in The Local Showcase and we’re open to you if you want to share your musical talent.

On any connected device.

Is Petersfield’s Shine Radio available on DAB or FM?

Not yet but you can support our campaign for a broadcast platform. If you make a donation, you’ll help us be ready when the regulator Ofcom invites licence applications for this area.

Why the name “Shine Radio”?

Local people chose our name as a bright and radiant focus of everything we do.
