One of the best-known names in Petersfield shopping has ceased trading in our town.

Sports Locker has traded in the town for fifteen years from premises on Chapel Street, but it closed its locker doors for the last time on Wednesday evening.

A hike in rental costs make the shop unviable according to owner Peter Jones.

What happens in the shop now?

Suggestions that the thriving next-door business Hector’s Menswear could expand into the former Sports Locker have been circulating locally for a while.

However, Shine Radio understands that the unit has been earmarked as another charity store outlet.
