Young children love being able to tell the time. Now they can do it all day long on Petersfield’s Shine Radio.
Children aged between 7 and 11 from Sheet Primary School have recorded audio for every minute and hour of the day.
Shine Radio volunteers produced more than seven hundred possible time checks from their voices. The children’s “Shine Time” recordings appear every hour on Shine Radio.
The Shine Time feature is sponsored by Petersfield family jewellers Picketts & Pursers which specialises in clocks, watches and a timeless selection of new and antique jewellery.
Headteacher of Sheet Primary School, Julie Robinson said:
“What a fabulous opportunity for our children to practise their oral presentation skills in a fun and interactive way, local children on local radio – how great is that!”
Shine Radio co-founder Stephen Martin said:
Petersfield’s Shine Radio is about local voices, local stories and trusted local information. It’s entirely fitting that children from our community get to keep the town on time.
