How many councillors does it take to make us safe?

East Hampshire councillors Russell Oppenheimer, Julie Butler and Robert Mocatta invited Hampshire County Councillor Nick Adams-King to inspect the fatal junction where Pulens Lane and Durford Road meet.

Last year a woman died at the crossroads.

Meanwhile, Petersfield Town Councillors have organised a speed alert sign which flashes to show your speed when you drive towards the accident flashpoint.

Local residents want urgent changes to reduce the number of collisions and prevent another death. But it’s been six years since the issue was first acknowledged by local authorities and still little has changed.

Now, the visiting elected representatives suggest any work could take a further 18 months to implement.

They are speaking to Shine Radio’s Jo Gray.
