Canine Partners, the assistance dog charity, will close the doors of its Heyshott centre in a few weeks time. From June 2023 the charity, which operates nationally, will be headquartered in a purpose built training centre in Leicestershire.

Canine Partners’ CEO, Alex Lochrane, talks candidly to Shine Radio presenter Kate Fairweather about the financial pressures of running two sites and the decision to consolidate, which has left local volunteers disappointed.

Alex gives an insight into volunteering trends after the pandemic and how they have affected the charity. He explains why Petersfield’s many puppy parents, fundraisers and other volunteers are now more important than ever to the charity’s future plans and success.
