Money raised in Petersfield has helped to fund an evacuation vehicle in Ukraine.

£11,000 pounds was raised at a concert held at Churcher’s College in March. The event was compered by local celebrity Hugh Bonneville and featured the ‘Two Colours’ Ukrainian womens choir.

The funds raised in Petersfield made a significant contribution to the total EUR 30,000 required to fund and equip the armoured evacuation vehicle. Now the vehicle is available to help save lives.

Promotion on Shine Radio ensured the event was a sell-out. Volunteers at the radio station produced and donated a radio advertisement and The Old Drum donated the cost of the advertising airtime.

Olena Petrovska of Petersfield’s Ukrainian community says:

Thank you very much for your support and help in purchasing an evaluation vehicle and a portable medical equipment.  Reduit organization has recorded 2 video reports with English subtitles in order to thank each of you for your efforts, support and help.  Now this equipped evacuation vehicle will save the lives of our defenders.
