Storm Jocelyn has made her mark overnight.

Power cut

Around 700 homes and 68 postcodes are without power around West Meon this morning according to utility specialists.

The power cut is affecting Bramdean and Warnford as well as West Meon village itself, and the area north past Loomies biker cafe to the A272 junction is also without power.

SSEN says its engineers arrived on site at five o’clock. If you’re affected the company expects to have you back on by half past ten.

Several cross channel sailings from Portsmouth are cancelled this morning.

The Portsmouth to Le Harvre services for 1130 and two thirty are both cancelled, as is tonight’s overnight service to Caen.

But Wightlink ferries are sailing to time this morning and the Gosport Ferry will still get you to Gosport.

The railway

There’s a points failure in Fratton which may cause minor delays on the railway but everything appears to be on time through Petersfield and Liss so far this morning and the roads appear to be running freely across the Petersphere.

We’ve only had 5.7 mm of rain in Petersfield from storm Jocelyn but there are several flood alerts in place close by.

The Environment Agency says the Itchen in Cheriton and Bramdean is high but stable.

West Dean, Chilgrove and Singleton still have an alert for high ground water but the agency says it is slowly falling now.

When it floods there it affects the road between Petersfield and Chichester in that area.

The Meon is steady and the Rother is rising, but it’s well within limits so no expected problems through Liss, Sheet and Rogate.
