Bedales Library is a grade 1 listed building and a memorial building designed by Ernest Gimson. Alan Cosh visited the building and talked to Alistair Langlands, a lecturer there for 30 years and author about the building.

Dear Mr Langlands,

I am delighted to have found this report with you on the history of the wonderful library at Bedales School. I spent two weeks in Bedales School in 1995 and I remember the unforgettable time I spent there and in the library of the school where I was reading in the afternoons. I remember even the plaques with the names of the Bedales students who died in World War I in the bays above.
I lived in your house. An Albanian English teacher, Mr Fatmir Vrapi, also spent some days there in the same time with a scholarship. I remember that you even took me to your weekend house once, which we reached by car on a nice forest road. We visited the wonderful Winchester Cathedral too with the math teacher of the school.

Thanks again for your kind hospitality, which was a memory of a lifetime!
