A window into the world of forensic police dogs within the Metropolitan Police, the UK’s largest urban police force, recorded at Goodwoof 2024.
In this relaxed interview, in between displays in the arena in Goodwoof, handler Police Constable Clyde Chalresworth explains the scope of work within this scent detection discipline. Forensic dogs’ work is vital in finding evidence to support convictions for violent crime.

Clyde Charlesworth has deployed forensic dogs on incidents that include the Grenfell tower collapse in London, the Croydon tram crash in 2017, and some of the UK’s highest profile murder victim searches. Rambo was one of the forensic search dogs on the Sarah Everard case in 2021.
Clyde currently has three dogs – General Purpose Police Dog Bonnie, a black German Shepherd and two spaniels – Rambo, the forensic dog, and Jeff the trainee forensic dog. Clyde also talks about Rambo’s sub-specialism, finding bodies in water.
Recorded in the beautiful surroundings of the Goodwood Estate, in between arena displays at the dog event, Goodwoof 2024.
