Richard Phillips replaces retiring chair Charles Bevan at the Winton House Centre.
He thinks its HIgh Street location, and being a home for a number of community organisations – like Age UK, Homestart Butser, the Community Cafe – keeps it at the heart of the community.
He spent many years working in the voluntary sector overseas.
He spoke to Mike Waddington about his work overseas and his appreciation of the staff and volunteers – and he has a snake story to tell.
