Christmas is a great time for families but if someone in yours has an eating disorder, Christmas can be a challenge.
Mel Flint, who runs the local support group PAUSE for the carers of people with an eating disorder, talks to Mike Waddington about how to plan to take food off its pedestal and having a happy Christmas with and for the whole family.
She told us that it is important, especially when someone is in recovery and coping with the changes that brings, that the person knows they are loved and they are safe.

It’s wonderful to hear Mel speaking calmly and passionately about supporting a loved one struggling with an eating disorder during this time of year. Additionally, raising awareness about this devastating illness while also highlighting mental illness in general is commendable.
Such a lovely interview highlighting the challenges of eating disorders- great questions from Mike and wonderful honestly from Mel to help us understand this disease.
Wishing you all a good Christmas x
Thanks very much
