It was 5 years today that Petersfield, like the rest of the UK, woke-up to the first day of lockdown to help prevent Covid deaths.
On that first morning with little else to do Shine Radio recorded the dawn chorus in the Tilmore area of Petersfield.
With a bright spring day unblighted by traffic or aeroplane noise t’s a sound that’s unlikely to be heard in our town again.
Enjoy the pure sound of a local dawn chorus from a time none of us is likely to forget.
What did we broadcast on that day?
In March 2020, Shine Radio as we know it hadn’t started. In fact, the radio service didn’t even have a name!
Our volunteers were making podcasts and ramped-up production to daily reports when the Coronavirus outbreak became significant in our local lives.
