There is a proposal for a major housing development in Clanfield on a green field site, but many of the local residents feel strongly that this should no go ahead. Phill Humphries spoke to two of the campaigners.

Well done!! Why take away a beautiful set of fields, they are building on other fields in the area. Soon we’ll have fake greenery!!
They are the last few green fields in Clanfield. “Clanfield “ in old English means clean fields. Clanfield is an historical village which still retains its intrinsic village characteristics. If those lovely green fields are taken away and replaced with unsightly and unacceptable urbanisation it will ruin what is still a semi rural village in the heart of the South Downs. Why don’t they sort out Waterlooville town centre before taking away lush green fields. Such a shame.
