Gardening expert and Broadcaster Pippa Greenwood, welcomes the crowds at the Physic Garden anniversary

The Physic – meaning medicinal – gardens are 35 years old and there was a celebration on Saturday 21 June.

Chair of Trustees Joan Shepley, introduced Gardening expert and broadcaster Pippa Greenwood, and Petersfield’s Mayor, Councillor Chris Paige, who cut the ribbon and an all age crowd moved through, with music and singing from the era the Garden celebrates, an exhibition, and children’s activities, amidst plenty of sunshine.

There was a special thanks for all volunteers and Head Gardener, John Wade Palmer.

The Town Crier had been out and about

As South East Water have appealed to people to save water Pippa, speaking to Mike Waddington, gave some advice for tending the garden in the heat.
