Spot the difference.
WH Smith in Rams Walk is becoming TG Jones.
The chain of in-town shops was bought by investors Modella Capital earlier this year but the brand was not for sale. That’s staying with the original owners for use in airports and railway stations.
A planning application from Blaze Signs for the change in Petersfield is awaiting approval by East Hampshire District Council.
But with such a subtle switch of like-for-like signs and the same blue and white colours would you notice the difference?
And for how long will you still call it “Smiths”?
Another new name
Meanwhile, Petersfield High Street is to becoming the latest location for fabrics chain The White Company.
The brand is known for bedding, towels and candles. It plans to open in the former NatWest bank building.
