Easter is the defining event of Christianity and on Good Friday between noon and 3pm people will gather in St Peter’s in remembrance and as a preparation for Easter Sunday.

The first service on Easter Sunday is at 6am, where a bonfire is lit to light the candle carried into the church; with another service at 9:30am

Reverend Will Hughes speaks to Mike Waddington about what Easter means and all parts of it’s season – 40 days before and 50 days after, Pentecost, with all its colours and rituals.

The Easter message, says the Rev Hughes, is all about hope.
