Fingers, energy, vehicles, bikes and plants – nearly everything is going green at this year’s Buriton Village Show on Saturday 20 August (1.30 to 4.40pm)
Once again, there will be two action-packed venues for this popular annual event: the Village Hall on the recreation ground and the Manor Barn.
Some of the traditional show classes will be in the Village Hall along with the village’s ‘Climate Care’ group who will be helping visitors to ‘go green’, reduce their carbon footprint and help the environment in any way they can.
There’ll also be additional interest this year with displays of electric vehicles, e-bikes and ways of reducing energy bills at home being demonstrated on the recreation ground: insights into saving energy, saving money and saving the planet.
The popular theme of pollinators will be continued from last year – in step with the exciting project Buriton is hosting, aimed at encouraging everyone to take steps to promote bees and other creatures in their gardens to help them play vital roles by pollinating plants that bring us so many everyday things – from fruit and vegetables, to raw materials, essential oils and also fibres for making clothes..
Just down the High Street at the Manor Barn there’ll be more exhibits of the finest home-grown fruit, veg and flowers.
Refreshments will be available at bot venues and there’ll also be a raffle, tombola and other stalls and attractions.
There’s something for everyone – see you there!
