Wednesday 22nd March, we bring you Father Earth! The documentary feature film of one man’s attempt to help save the planet – Starring Graham Fellows as himself, and his comic alter ego John Shuttleworth – with guest appearances by Kids’ TV legends Sooty and Sweep!
The documentary feature follows Fellows’ attempt to help save the planet, by converting a derelict church on a windswept island in Orkney into an eco friendly recording studio.
Father Earth is also about family relationships – specifically between fathers and sons – exploring the paradox: how in the battle against extinction we are often distracted by personal and family issues, as they appear more important and pressing than the future of the planet.
Funny yet moving, and filmed mainly in the Orkney Isles over a 10 year period, Father Earth is Graham Fellows’ most thoughtful and accomplished movie to date. Previous work includes It’s Nice Up North filmed by Martin Parr (2004) and Southern Softies (2008)
“Jeckyll and Hyde Psychodrama ….A Buddy movie about a depressive comic and his Dad” – The Guardian
“Fellows, like Shuttleworth, is a delightful raconteur and he knows how to tell a tale, and this is one for the ages” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – FILMHOUNDS
