The second installment of our Alec Guinness Film Festival truly shows the actor’s range of skills. Guinness is the whole show in the film which casts him in eight distinctly hilarious roles.  Guinness transforms into each character — man, woman, young and old — through ways that don’t simply involve heavy makeup. Sure, there are prosthetics involved, but there’s also body language, voice, and other subtleties that distinguish one D’Ascoyne from the next.

A distant poor relative of the Duke D’Ascoyne plots to inherit the title by murdering the eight other heirs who stand ahead of him in the line of succession.
