This workshop offers a beginner-friendly introduction to creating simple repeat patterns using linocut printmaking. After a short demonstration of the tools and techniques, you’ll design and carve a small lino block that has been carefully planned so the design repeats when printed.
Using simple shapes, lines and marks, you’ll carve a block that connects at the edges, allowing the print to repeat and build a continuous pattern. Once carved, you’ll learn how to ink your block and print it multiple times to create a one-colour pattern.
By the end of the session you’ll have created your own repeating pattern print to take home.
No experience is needed and all materials are provided.
