The Stansted Players return to the Bedales Olivier Theatre with their 31st annual stage production – The Liars by Thomas Henry Jones.

Plot

A national hero is causing disturbance at a garden party by being besotted with another man’s flirtatious wife, whose fiery husband is already prepared for fisticuffs. Discovered next evening, by the husband’s brother, dining at a convenient Thames-side Inn, they hastily conjure plausible  reasons for their being together; eventually the entire cast in involved:  Oh! What a tangled web they weave when first they practise to deceive… (Sir Walter Scott)

Production

Performers will include Esther Biddle, Julien Allen, Jessica Price, Harriet Thomson, Dan Rasbash, Annia Grey, Jordan Theis, Stephen Davidson, Nicholas Tier, George Sinclair, Rebecca Langlands, Serena Brett and Lucy Coates.

Music arranged by Nicholas Gleed. Lighting arranged by Janet and Simon Auty and Simon Fothergill. Costumes provided by Joanne Greenwood at the Bedales Wardrobe. Domestic by Dan Wheeler and Alice Clark and Eve Hemingway.

After a year’s forced absence, the Stansted Players have made a triumphant return to the boards. where their customary infectious energy, polished performances and fine singing voices were able, once more, to divert and delight hugely appreciative audiences
