TakeNOTE Chamber Choir Christmas Concert

Yule is a celebration of Christmas in song with TakeNOTE chamber choir - a 16-strong ensemble, directed by acclaimed folk singer and musician, Carolyn Robson. The choir’s winter programme is rooted in the English folk tradition but ranges far and wide. You’ll hear the oldest secular song in the English language from the 13th century and a modern choral work by a Canadian composer of film music. There’ll be carols because it’s Christmas and songs about trees ‘because we like them’ and because this is a fundraiser for the Woodland Trust. The Trust is a leading conservation charity that creates, protects and cares for woodland in Hampshire and across the UK. Christmas comes to St Lawrence in The Square, a small church of Norman origin, said to have been William the Conqueror's private chapel. Join us in this lovely, intimate space and enjoy an evening of winter songs and carols.
