Petersfield’s a cappella singers, The Free Radicals, will be offering a short time of contemplation and reflection next week by singing a selection of the very best choral music written for the Lent season over the past four centuries, from the Renaissance to the present day. The music will be complemented by some dramatic poetry readings.
The group’s director, Steve Sargent said,
It’s one of our favourite events of the year because the music is passionate, inspiring and moving – even if you’re not much of a church-goer. But we’re also very glad to be able to support a Petersfield-based charity which has been working in Ukraine for years.
The event will be held in St Peter’s Church in Petersfield Square at 7:30pm on Wednesday, 13th April and is free for everyone. At the end, there will be a collection for the vital work of the Ukraine Christian Partnership which provides food, toiletries, accommodation, heating and security for people who have fled to the west of the country to escape the bombing.
