Visually stunning, boundary pushing theatre…
Twisted Tales comes to The Phoenix Theatre in June!
A group of thespians stumble upon an ominous book filled with grisly and gory tales. Will they be bound to act as the book’s puppets? Destined for a life of performing, but never truly free…
Twisted Tales, whilst having no assistance from props, set, costume or sound, will transport you from the fireplace of a cosy woodland cottage to the bloody and violent battle of Wessex. Their cast of six regal actors are confined to the space of a gym mat, while showcasing five folk tales which all end with a twist.
Audiences will be entranced with the intricacy, “tight transitions, effective soundscapes and carefully considered choreography”. Twisted Tales, created by Box House Theatre Company, combines theatre with comedy for all, meaning “there are a good number of laughs to be had too”.
“Twisted Tales serves as an excellent example of the type of boundary pushing theatre that is out there if you know where to look” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – The Reviews Hub
