As Armistice approaches, why not spend this Half Term exploring the Western Weald’s connection to war. On this short walk we will travel through 1000+ years of military history discovering the indelible imprint of war upon our landscape.
For a woman I am perhaps a little odd, as I have always been fascinated by war. It all began with Pol Pot and the Killing Fields of Cambodia. This interest led me to study a Masters in Strategic Studies (of the military kind not business)& work as a Political Risk Analyst. This walk is perhaps the sweet spot that combines both my passions. Perhaps you too enjoy a walk and some military history.
Suitable for children over about 8 yrs (accompanied by adults), although please be aware that there will be one very short section of busy road.
