Hundreds of people turned-out to witness the public Proclamation of King Charles III in Petersfield.
The event took place in The Square and the Proclamation was given by Admiral Sir Philip Jones, former First Sea Lord.
The mayor of Petersfield, Councillor Peter Clist introduces Sir Philip and the blessing is given by Canon Will Hughes of St Peter’s Church.
The public Proclamation coincided with the national vigil, a minute of silent reflection on the evening preceding Her late Majesty’s funeral.
The event was organised after East Hampshire District Council was derided by local people for posting a wobbly handheld video of a closed ceremony it held inside its offices.
