East Hampshire Dementia Festival

Dementia Friendly Petersfield are looking forward to welcoming everyone to this year’s Dementia Festival which is taking place at the Auditorium, Churcher’s College, Ramshill, Petersfield, GU31 4AS, 31st October, 10am – 1pm.

This event has been running since 2019, and offers the chance for people living with dementia, their families and friends, to access information and support from a wide range of organisations all under one roof. This year there are 25 organisations taking part including Alzheimer’s Society, Princess Royal Trust for Carer’s and the Older Person’s Mental Health team, as well as a presentation by Dr Boothby at 11am, and some entertainment from the Dementia Choir and singer Archie McKeown.

With a café, run by the Winton House Centre, and representatives from the local Dementia Friendly groups, there is a real community feel to this event that was instigated by the late Jeff Williams, a well-known local figure who worked tirelessly to improve awareness and improve the perception of what it was like to live with dementia.
