This year’s South Downs Show has been regarded a huge success by organisers. The two day event was held at the bottom of Butser Hill on the 10th and 11th of August. There were many attractions including arena acts, a petting zoo, country life stalls, children’s zone, live music and dog shows. The dog zone attracted around 1000 canine visitors across the weekend and was set up with paddling pools and plenty of water to keep our furry friends cool. Volunteers from Petersfield’s Shine Radio were providing commentary in the main arena and the dog zone as well as interviewing stall holders, acts and visitors.
Event organisers Ben Errey and Steve Jacob said:
“We were thrilled with the fantastic turnout at the South Downs Show this weekend, welcoming 8,750 happy visitors. The overwhelmingly positive feedback has been awesome! Our significant financial and time investments, particularly in improving the car park, have really paid off. We believe that creating a smooth and pleasant arrival experience set the tone for a great day and we’re delighted to see that reflected in our guests’ enjoyment of the event. We are already looking forward to bringing the show back next year for 2025. “
